The Maison des Arts, built in 1826 by Charles-Louis Eenens is an listed building located in a urban area.
It is made of an entrance porch, a front courtyard and the main building with its annexs such as the estaminet, the concierge’s lodge, and a garden with a pond.
Each entity in this set is highlighted in a specific way that invites the visitor to a poetic experience, guiding them along a path through the different spaces.
From the street, a luminous beacon draws you in; then you pass through a rhythmic transition under the entrance porch, encounter soft lighting in the courtyard, notice architectural details illuminated on the front façade, and see graphic lighting on the rear façade—culminating in an invitation to the intimate garden.
This project was awarded the «Low Budget» prize by ACE in 2021.
