“A new setting of light”
Light will bring a new radiance to the jewel that is the Goyet Caves, subtly highlighting their unique features. Themes such as chiaroscuro, trompe-l’œil, traces, and natural palettes have been carefully selected to accompany the diverse and rich atmospheres throughout the visitor route. The design strikes a balance between being educational and playful, while remaining sober and respectful of the natural environment.
The lighting will be adapted to various uses of the cave: standard tours, visits for the visually impaired, torchlit walks, and more.
The equipment will support programmable settings, allowing for lighting on demand during visits to reveal spaces sequentially, or complete darkness to provide visitors with an experience of “total blackness.”
