The 4‑hectare abbey site includes:
- the Grand-Place;
- the area surrounding the Abbey Tower;
- a public garden.
As an integral part of the city center, this site—dedicated to tourism and cultural events—must contribute to the revitalization and enhancement of Saint‑Amand.
Thus, the project seeks to marry a heritage-focused approach with the goal of stimulating social activity in this major space.
As a result, the concept focuses both on the staging of the Abbey Tower—sitting at the heart of this space—and on the pedestrian routes through this urban “room.”
