“A luminous landmark on the hill”
The lighting project of the Huy Fort is part of the city Lighting Plan (2015). This military building overlooking the valley will be lit in a subtle and targeted manner (not competing with local fauna and flora).
- As a key symbolic landmark of the city entrance, it will feature enhanced lighting on its most visible façades;
- The smooth and monolithic nature of the surface is affirmed through accentuated lighting on protruding elements and gentle contouring of recessed areas;
- In dialogue with the vegetated ridgelines: the silhouette of the trees is set against a mineral background, with a gradual reduction — or even absence — of lighting towards the wooded areas, which are more exposed to bat activity.
- A softened color, differentiated from the Collegiate Church’s neutral tones: a relatively warm color temperature that is tolerated by both bats and plants.
