This lighting design is part of a project implementation mission derived from the Ghent Light Plan (2009 – R. Jéol), carried out in coordination with the distribution network manager, Eandis.
The illumination of this university building (UGent), which forms part of Ghent’s skyline, aims to be light and graphic, but above all visible from a distance:
Soft lighting on the cubic volume, from a low angle, evoking a «moonlit» effect;
a highlighting of the «T,» formed by the succession of glazed surfaces up to the belvedere, with warm interior lighting;
an emphasis on the belvedere and its terraces as a city landmark, with the option of color lighting during events.
