“Landscapes between vegetation and mineral”
The lighting concept for the pathways creates luminous invitations and openings onto the surrounding landscapes, with certain areas deliberately left less illuminated. The concept favours to highlight vertical elements and luminous background in order to create a «feeling of safety».
The lighting is inspired by both mineral and vegetal atmospheres — sometimes poetic, other times more realistic. The mineral aspect reflects the military character of the site, while the vegetal aspect symbolizes its transformation into an urban park. Both approaches engage the viewer’s imagination.
The lighting devices are «smart», providing light where needed for users, while preserving darkness for local flora and fauna.
