Cureghem district lighting scheme, Brussels

The Cureghem district lighting scheme focusses on three iconic locations: the bulls of the Anderlecht abattoirs, the Curo Hall and the Beeldenstorm.

The common language adopted for the illumination reflects a wish to unify the neighbourhood, to create focal points in the landscape to guide the visitor towards the heart of the shopping area, the Abattoirs.

The idea is to bring alive the locations studied by means of graphic projections on the ground or on façades.

The projection remains stationary by the stylised drawing evokes motion. The colour is neutral: warm white. The drawing is inspired by the bulls, the symbol of the Abattoirs, a key location in the development of this district.
